A fun new way to take on glitter and shimmers for the festive season, as you all can tell I adore any makeup look with gloss involved. If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen that I recently came across this amazing book of runway looks. Super inspired, I wanted to try and incorporate some of these looks I found to bring into the current festive season! I took inspiration from the catwalks; and used my favourite gloss product on the lids and smoked out my lower lash line. By combining glitter & shimmers to the eyes it will create that extra glitz and glam perfect for the festive season.

Now obviously If you’re just not on board with chunky glitter in any form, switch to a shimmery and finer pigment and bold festive hues. I went in with a  gold shimmer for a base and then a yellow glitter on top. Keeping the eyes the focus of the look I used a nude lip but then, later on, I decided to layer gloss on top.

For the face, using a dewy foundation, heavy concealer and a powder to set, the main aim is to create a flawless finish to the face. For foundation, I used 'Nars Sheer Glow in Tahoe' and concealer I went in with my trusty 'Kryolan Concealer pot in 'DM1/4'. I recently purchased a new mineral foundation by Bare minerals in 'Golden Tan' ; so far I think I like it, the coverage is good and sets my under eyes quite well. I'm still trying to make my mind up about this powder, the only thing I would say about the powder is that sometimes on my skin it comes on  quite pink under my eyes. (what do you guys think?)

For the eyes, I concealed around my brows and left my lids bare - yes this is how dark my dark circles are right now. So being 'blessed' with naturally dark lids I simply placed gloss on top. Now, of course, you can recreate this look by concealing any darkness around your eyes or by adding darker shadows to add more depth into the crease.

I began with a soft brown to create a smooth transition for the colours on top. Then added Coloured Raine in the colour 'Flashy' the lower lash line and add that to smoke out the soft brown. For the glitter, I went in with Graftobian Powdered glitter in 'Yellow,' both eyeshadows were purchased from beautybay.com.

For the lips I went in with Kiko Lip pencil in '300' and then went in with Gosh lip oil on top.

Hope this inspires you to get creative with glitter and shimmery shadows! Keep a look out for more looks and keep up to date with me on IG @textbookbeauty
