Who said WOC can't wear bold colours? I've honestly loved this red and blue combination ever since I first saw Nikki_Makeup on Instagram first create this look! It was only until I saw Rihanna in the video 'Wild Thoughts' that I HAD to recreate it. I've said this before and I'll say it again, Rihanna can do no wrong in my eyes! If you haven't seen the video ... then where have you been girl. The video dropped a few days ago and I've literally been screen grabbing every single clip she's in. The very talented Mylah Morales created this beautiful look on Rihanna for the music video. It's also made me reconsider going back to short hair too. I should note though, this is an inspired look so it isn't exactly how Riri had her makeup. I encourage you all to start experimenting with colours! trust me you won't look back.
From what I saw in the music video, it looked like she had a turquoise / greenish-blue lid with a highlighted inner conner. I started with Mac's uninterrupted in the crease as a transition colour, I wanted this to be very messy and blown out so don't worry about it being too neat. I used a mixture of shades in a few palettes to get the colours I wanted - BH Cosmetics 120 1st edition & the sleek makeup ultra-mattes palette.
For the lips, I revisited one of my favourite lipsticks Russian read by MAC and lined my lips with the 3ina Lip Pencil in 506 Red which I purchased on Asos.
